Showcase – July 10-25
Official Summer Festival Week Showcase – July 10th -25th with two great stages of music and many activities to attend.
The party begins with the Saturday Farmer's Market in the City Square supplying the stage to the "Junior Duncan's Got Talent" preliminaries including a special performances from past winners of the Duncan’s Got Talent. Finals for the Junior’s will take place during Children’s Day, Sunday July 11th in Charles Hoey Park.
Daily concerts featured in Charles Hoey Park from noon till 8pm with selected performances in the City Market Square will give you ample reasons to venture into downtown Duncan during the 2 week festival. (We are again exploring the opportunity of a third stage at the Green Door on Ingram Street )
On Friday July 16th, the DBIA involvement in the Summer Festival begins with street closures for the many fun filled activities they have organized through till late Saturday afternoon July 17th.
Saturday July 17th, The Grande Parade starting at 11am features the fantastic, world travelled Delta Police Pipe Band along with our well established and accomplished Cowichan Pipe and Drums. A special treat will be these bands holding a military Tattoo just in front of our local Legion at 2 p.m. Make sure you hang around for the inevitable caleigh that promises to take place when you have this many pipers in one location.
The second week’s entertainment schedule is designed to draw attention to the 26th Islands Folk Festival held on July 23rd / 24th / 25th at Providence Farm. Many past and present musicians along with an evening featuring the festival MC’s guarantees a wonderful way to spend any evening in this week.

Summer Festival Headquarters is in the bright Orange Caboose located beside the Cowichan Valley Museum and Archives.

The Saturday July 17 Grand Parade
Be sure to be in downtown early on Saturday morning to grab yourself a good seat for the Grand Parade, which starts at 11:00a.m.! It can last anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half, starting off with vintage fire trucks and continuing with local floats, marching bands, The Shriners' Eastern Band and Mini Motorcycles, clowns, First Nations Drummers and much, much more!
